The Introduction And Application Of Outdoor Network Cable

- Mar 21, 2018-

The network cable is divided into the indoor cable and the outdoor cable. In the integrated wiring project, the outdoor cat5e cable is a transmission medium that is often used in outdoor wiring.

The difference between the outdoor cable and the indoor cable is that the sheath is black PE material, not the PVC or LSOH sheath used for the indoor cable. The PE material can be well adapted to outdoor bad weather changes; furthermore, black PE sheath than the indoor cable sheath PVC or LSOH should be thick. Outdoor wiring is difficult in comparison with the indoor wiring. The thick sheath is conducive to when the wiring, it is not easy to pull the sheath, not easily involved in the copper core, played a wear, tensile and compressive effect.

When choosing an outdoor network cable, it is best to choose outdoor oxygen-free copper cable for high transmission requirements and long transmission distance. The outdoor pure copper cable and the outdoor oxygen-free copper cable are the commonly used cables in the project. The resistance of the pure copper is much higher than that of the oxygen-free copper material. take cat5e Lan cable for example, the oxygen-free copper cable has a resistance of 30 Ohms within 300 meters. The resistance of the pure copper wire is about 110 ohms.

The pure copper cables can only transmit about 80 meters generally, but oxygen-free copper cables can transmit 120 meters to 150 meters generally, and the resistance is small and the transmission efficiency is good.

Since the ever-changing outdoor environment, it is often exposed to the sun and rain, and the outdoor cable is effective waterproofed and sun protection, it is better adapts to external weather problems. Also, outdoor cable (PE jacket) can be used in too humid or cold environments.
